This release of the VCM Trader platform addresses many of the critical fixes and refinements that had been requested for the platform, including the following:
- Trailing and OCO (Range) stops have now been added to EDGX stop server.
- New command called EXSHORT is now available for use with hot keys.
- New command stop order using hot keys.
There are two sets of instructions. One for new installations and the other one for existing user upgrades. The new user installation is recommended instead of the upgrade procedure, which requires the user to have an understanding of computer file commands. If you are not concerned about saving either customized screen layouts or customized stock lists, then you can use the new user installation even if you are an existing user.
Remember that, if you have saved your trading page under the name "default", you should save a copy of it under another name in order to avoid having it overwritten during the download. If you wish to save any stock lists in your market watch windows rather than downloading the default lists, you can use the upgrade procedures below.
- Windows 2000, Windows XP
- Processor: Pentium 4 1.8 GHz or better
- RAM: 1 GB
- Monitor: 17" or larger dual monitors with 1280 x 1024 resolution
- Internet connection: DSL or cable modem with Internet Service Provider
- Bandwidth: at least 150kbps
- If you are a new VCM Trader user, please jump to step #5.
- If you are an existing VCM Trader user, first write down your login and password, since you will need this to log in again after the installation. If you want a clean install, and are not concerned about retaining any customized screens or stock lists, then please jump to step #4.
- If you want to save both your "default" screen and stock lists, the please go to the "Existing user upgrade installation" below. If you want just to save your "default" screen, you should save a copy of it under another name like "mybackupdefault" in order to avoid having it overwritten during the download.
- Uninstall your existing VCM Trader by closing and exiting VCM Trader first. Then, go to "Control Panel", and remove the old version of VCM Trader.
